The Benefits of Exfoliating Your Face and Body

Skin Exfoliating

Skin ExfoliatingWhenever you step out of the house, you accumulate dirt, both visible and unseen. This is why it’s very important to wash your face the moment you get home and to include exfoliation as part of your regime. This helps clear your face and body of dead skin, which makes way for unclogged pores and better-looking skin.

How Often Should You Exfoliate?

We understand the importance of exfoliating, but too much exfoliation is bad for the skin. Overdoing it can strip away natural oils that your skin produces.

It is recommended to exfoliate at least twice a week to make sure your skin is stripped away of dead skin. This activity improves the circulation of blood and brightens your complexion.

What Else Should You Do After Exfoliating?

  • Moisturize – Exfoliation is for naught if you don’t moisturize your skin with a good moisturizing cream. It helps keep your skin from becoming dry and can protect it from sun damage if it contains SPF.
  • Hydrate – Remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. But if you can, drink more than that. Hydrating doesn’t only benefit your skin, it also keeps you healthy. Human skin is an organ, so it still needs water in order for it to function as it should. If your skin isn’t getting enough water, it will appear dull and dry. Worse, it would even be prone to becoming wrinkled. Partner that with no moisturizing and exfoliating, and you’ll have yourself pretty bad skin in no time.

Age affects the quality of a person’s skin, but if it’s exfoliated regularly, hydrated, and moisturized, then that’s pretty much the formula for the fountain of youth.

Be sure to follow the steps above to have glowing and healthy skin every day of the week. You can even be sure to add more fruits and vegetables to your diet, because these have many vitamins and minerals that can also contribute to your health and skincare goals.
